Family files suit against RHMS Brett King, Managing Editor 24.JUL.08
The family of a former Richard Hardy Memorial School student is asking for $300,000 in a lawsuit after he suffered injuries on the school’s watch.
According to court documents, Doug C. Gouger has filed a lawsuit against the Richard City Special School District on behalf of his son, Dexter A. Gouger.
The lawsuit alleges the school acted negligently after the 14 year old fell and broke his leg and ankle on school playground equipment on April 25, 2007.

Authorities are still looking for a man who allegedly stole fuel from a Whitwell gas station and led police on a high-speed chase. He is also suspected in several other incidents.
According to information from Marion County Sheriff’s Department investigator Chad Johnson, Thomas Carter allegedly caused damage to a Whitwell Police car during the high-speed chase on July 13.

As the 2008-2009 school year draws closer, contractors work diligently to put the finishing touches on the new South Pittsburg High School gymnasium.
“We have about 90 percent of the gym finished. The floor is basically complete and roughly 90 percent of the walls are painted,” T.U. Parks Supervisor Doyle Lewis said on Monday. “We’re hoping to be finished by the start of school, but that may be a stretch.”
